Welcome to MAISELF. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how our "Privacy First" AI Personal Assistant application collects, uses, and safeguards your information.

1. Data Collection & Storage (Local Only)

MAISELF is built strictly on a "Privacy First" framework. All your personal data—including chat history, notes, dreams, and personal preferences—is stored locally on your device using an encrypted local database (Room DB). We do not own, operate, or maintain any databases that store your personal information.

2. Data Encryption

Sensitive information such as your application PIN and personal API keys are encrypted at the hardware level using the Android Keystore System (AES/GCM). These keys are never transmitted to our servers.

3. Cloud Backup (Google Drive API)

MAISELF offers an optional backup and restore feature utilizing the Google Drive API. If you choose to use this feature:

• Your local database is compressed into an encrypted zip file and uploaded strictly to a hidden, app-specific folder (appDataFolder) within your personal Google Drive account.
• We, the developers, do not have access to your Google Drive account, your backup files, or the contents within them.
• Your data is not shared with any third parties.

4. Use of Camera and Microphone

Our app requires Camera and Microphone permissions to provide AI Media Analysis (e.g., analyzing mood, age, or vibe from a photo or a 10-second audio snippet).

• Audio and Images are NOT saved locally or remotely. They are captured ephemerally, sent to the AI processing layer for analysis, and immediately discarded from memory once the text-based analysis is generated and saved as a note in your local database.

5. AI Processing (Vercel Proxy & Gemini API)

Depending on your usage tier:

• Premium (Custom API Key): If you provide your own Google Gemini API key, your text/media is sent directly to Google's servers.
• Free Tier (Proxy): If you use the free tier, your text/media is routed through our serverless Vercel proxy. Our proxy only routes the request; it does not log, store, or monitor your prompts, audio, or images.

6. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any major changes via in-app updates.
